IEEE DEIS UK Chapter Meeting 2013

The 2013 IEEE DEIS UK Chapter winter technical meeting will be held at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton on Wednesday 4th December 2013, from 10am - 4pm. The focus for the meeting will be on issues surrounding the use of dielectric materials for offshore cable systems applications. We aim to achieve a balance between presentations from invited speakers and lively discussion on what the dielectrics community needs to do to respond to the challenges of developing offshore cable networks in the future.

The event will also incorporate the annual meeting of the Chapter. For those who are also Cigre B1 members, the annual Cigre B1 UK Liaison meeting will be held the next day.For those wishing to stay overnight, a discounted rate is available at the hotel (please quote University of Southampton Event 4/12/13 when calling to make a reservation).

Outline Programme:

The outline agenda for the day is shown below.  For each of the technical presentations, a 10-15min presentation will be given by one of the Chapter members to set the scene and identify the key questions.  The session will then open to questions, comments and debate from the audience, with a particular focus on defining the line between what is already known and key areas of activity for the future.  Strong opinions welcomed!
