The Electrical Power Engineering (EPE) Research Group held its Away Day on Thursday 10 September 2026 at Pirrie Park Bowling Club. The event brought together postgraduate research (PGR) students, research fellows and academics for a day of discussion, reflection and informal activities.

During the meeting, members reviewed the group's recent achievements and discussed priorities for its future strategy. The conversation considered how EPE can build on its research strengths, support its researchers and students, and encourage closer collaboration across projects and career stages.

The Away Day also gave colleagues working across different areas of electrical power engineering an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn more about one another's work. The discussions reflected the breadth of expertise within the group and the value of shaping its future direction collectively.

After the strategy session, the group enjoyed skittles and short mat bowls, together with refreshments and a very generous lunch! The relaxed setting allowed conversations to continue informally and helped strengthen connections across the group.

Bringing together PGR students, research fellows and academics, the day highlighted EPE as a friendly, collaborative and supportive research community, with a shared ambition to build on past achievements and strengthen the group for the future.
